Heh heh. Touche' my friend. Nicely done. I shall have to think of something less .. "flameyer" .. for the next time.

Perhaps an in-depth discussion with regards to the mating rituals of the norwegian sewer rat. I can't see that raising much argument. Or interest in any way :). Ha ha.

Dave,

Nice. I think you're coming from a better perspective that me. That is, wiser.

I agree that the newsgroups are a great place for people to give answers, and find stuff. When I first started (and still) I would scour them for answers.

Moderation doesn't have to be a bad thing. Doesn't have to negate the good points that you have mentioned. Although I guess I might be wrong. It's happened in the past apparently :).

Perhaps moderation is a bad idea. I doubt that it would be implemented anyway, too much ground to cover and things to deal with.

But sometimes the prop within me just wants to bash away with brawn as opposed to calmly stepping back and seeing the reality of the situation.

Cheers, and Thanks again for the conversation.

Not sure I quite agree.
90% plus of what most people say is drivel, most is fair enough, and a small amount contains real gems.
Not sure why anyone would expect a newsgroup to be any different.
People ask questions that could easily be looked up in he help file...
People give answers some of which are correct ...
sticks and stones may break my bones, but newsgroup posts will never hurt me (but they may enlighten, enrage, entertain, and annoy me, just like people in the real world)
Mostly, they entertain :)
